John Galliano's..

If you check out Dior's runway photo seperately. There's nothing surprising.
always designed by John Galliano,
and always with models from IMG (sasha...Jessica...ect.. always those same girls). But by going through the whole series, people would be inspired.

You don't understand them, but you understand me always ! Haa :aww:

Something different from fashion design and graphic design, is graphic has more silhouette while fashion must goes with human bodies.
The most successful fashion design is those which leading the fashion trend; and the most successful graphic design is those very unique , and far off the trend. fashion design has too much to do with commercial ,therefore it can't be seen as a kind of art.

^_^ the world's fashion theme of 2006 is Victorian princess. I heard it would be much like the army commander such as Napoleon. John is showing his style in 2008. (usually his style is 1 year earlier than the world's trend, you can 'understand' his older fashion work)

oooh sorry I talked a lot... when it comes to fashion ... I become endless

I absolutely loveee couture fashion. D8 I think they look fantastic! I especially love the second one, the form and cut with the makeup and runway look crazy together.

Ok first of all, John Galliano is the designer for Dior..so its always going to be designed by him. I find that his couture line is quite unique and i have not seen shapes and use of fabric used like this. His ideas and themes are revolutionary and quite innovative. I find that couture lines such as Chanel are quite horrible because of the fact they look at their past designs and constantly repeat the same designs. Aside from Alexander McQueen, John Galliano is quite the avantgarde of fashion.

I'd leave to hear more of you...Since the fashion and the design are connected is always good to know more..

He actually divided very clearly between fashion art and design. His commercial line is very acceptable for manufacturers, and not 'unique' like these kinds of silhouette. And his 'art' line is usually revolutionary indeed ~ he is a fashion artist more than a designer, making the Dior clients think that 'Are you fooling me??????' in the runway show.
yea... design like Chanel is really mundane.
People don't understand him until one year later, when his idea is usually accepted later. See... now people start to like his 2005 line. But he already turned to explore in somethin new.

But look back to his design, we may see that his style actually doesn't change too much. The make ups , the silhouette, the oversized design stuff ....repeatedly appear ... Japanese designers would have more innovative ideas.
